'I never went to university' - billionaire Folorunsho Alakija admits

One of Africa's richest women and chairman of Famfa Oil, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija yesterday August 27th revealed that she never went to a university, saying one does not need a university education to make it in life. Mrs Alakija said this while speaking with students of the University of Lagos during the 2014 UN International Youths Day in Lagos.

Reading from a teleprompter, Karrueche joked that the no. 6 thing Blue Ivy was thinking while on stage was, "I really did wake up like this because my parents don't comb my hair.".

According to the Mountain View Police Department of California, gunshots were fired during a Wiz Khalifa concert on Friday, Aug. 22 at Shoreline Ampitheatre, which resulted in the death of 38-year-old Eric Johnson.
The following Sunday, the Mountain View Police, along with the Irvine Police Department, executed search warrants at the Verizon Ampitheatre in Irvine, and as a result of that search, six individuals,
including rapper Young Jeezy, were arrested on firearms-related charges. The police have not yet announced any connection between the arrests and the shooting.
The homicide investigation is ongoing.

Photos: Slain Ferguson teenager, Michael Brown buried amidst tears

Michael Brown, the 18 year old unarmed black teen who was shot dead by a white cop, Darren Wilson, on August 9th was laid to rest yesterday August 25th at the Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church in St Louis, Missouri. Hundreds of blacks from Missouri and all around America including Al Sharpton and Rev Jesse Jackson came out to bid the young man farewell. See more photos below:

Juliet Ibrahim has definitely moved on from Ik Ogbonna, and he looks like he has too after flaunting his Colombian girlfriend on social media. In a new interview with Encomium magazine,she addressed the rumours .When asked about her split with her husband,she said

“I am divorced and I don’t intend discussing it. It didn’t work out based on irreconcilable differences and we decided to go our separate ways.”

A Night of Tribute took place yesterday evening at the International Conference Center Abuja in honor of Prof Dora Akunyili who died on June 7th in India after a battle with cancer. Dignitaries included former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), Former Education Minister Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Onyeka Onwenu, Minister of Power Chukwu Nebo, Senator Chris Ngige amongst others.

Pres. Jonathan will lead other men and women today to Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro-Cathedral Catholic Church, Garki, Abuja, for a Requiem Mass in honour of late Akunyili. She will be buried at her husband's home in Agulu Anambra state on Thursday August 28th.
